At Coastal Shred Academy, community comes first. Our surf and skate programs have grown from a small local project into one of the most active youth programs in Tofino, BC. We’re proud to create safe, supportive spaces where local kids can learn, grow, and connect through surf and skate culture.

Every lesson, event, and beach day is built around one simple goal: to keep Tofino’s surf culture alive, accessible, and full of stoke.

We also share revenue from our youth programs with local schools and district partners, helping reinvest directly back into the community that supports us.

Building the Next Generation of Surfers and Skaters

Our youth programs run year-round, helping kids gain confidence in the water, the skatepark, and in themselves. We focus on fun, safety, ocean awareness, and building real connections with friends and nature.

Kids who start in our programs often grow into confident surfers and role models in the community. We regularly hear how our students are seen helping younger kids at the skatepark or in the lineup. It’s not just about learning to surf and skate — it’s about learning respect, teamwork, resilience, and love for the ocean and each other.

30% of profits from our Triple Plank Prep Camp are donated to Rising Tide Surf Society, helping Indigenous youth gain access to surf and skate programming in nuučaan̓uł territory.
